Should I scrub it before?

Hi, Glenda! I LOVE the idea of using maps on student desks; how creative and lovely! As for your counter tops, it would certainly be fun and look great, but I’ve never tried using ModPodge on laminate, so I’m not certain how well it would stick. With a waterproof sealer, you would probably be safe from significant wear, but you should make sure that it’s food safe if they’re your kitchen counter tops. You could start by trying it out on one small, out-of-the-way section of your counter to see what you think. Good luck and have fun playing around!

I believe the desk top was laminate. I have laminate counter tops I would like to cover with paper or maybe even fabric(?). I know I would have to seal it with waterproff sealer but does this sound like something doable, functional and attractive? I would appreciate your advice!
