There aren’t too many Tobey families around that spell the name like we do. My maiden name was Tobey. My grandparents, Albert Thorpe and Ruth Tobey lived in Binghamton, NY. Any relation? They were my FAVORITE people!
I’ve been happily married to a Disabled Viet Nam Marine Vet for 42 years. He knows all about not being appreciated. But despite set backs, he also managed to start his own business at age 50. Unfortunately, because of severe health problems, the business has failed. The one piece of advise he would give is: “Know when to make a change and don’t throw good money after bad.” Of course he would also have me say “Thank you and Semper Fi!”

While there will always be the occasional critics of our military, never forget that there are many, many people not only in America but worldwide who are deeply appreciative of the service and sacrifice of America’s servicemen and women. The critics haven’t been there, haven’t done the job like you have. You can take great pride in your service to our nation, Marine, and be prouder still of what you are achieving and will continue to achieve. All the best.
